Assistant Dean of Finance
North Carolina Central University
Primary Purpose of Position:
This position creates and manages the budget for the school of law in addition to completing all financial, regulatory compliance forms required by our accrediting bodies, the ABA and AALS. Also, this position oversees day to day budget, transfers and other organizational staffing services including state revenue, Title III and other grant funding. Facilities management equipment and repairs plus purchasing protocols and priorities are the responsibility of the office
Professional level of knowledge of a discipline equivalent to that which is acquired in a Masters degree-level of study or Certified Public Accountant. At least five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in planning and budgeting preferably in a university or nonprofit institution of equal or larger size.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Experience in the use of technology to illustrate complex financial reports, comparisons
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, as well as strong organizational and management abilities
Strong analytical skills and the proven ability to plan, develop and execute creative approaches to complex financial issues
This position requires the ability to effectively establish and maintain cooperative working
relationships within a diverse multicultural environment
Ability to work effectively with school administrators, faculty, students and staff as
well as university administrators at various levels
Ability to handle multiple projects, set priorities, meet deadlines and maintain a
high level of performance in a fast paced environment with frequent interruptions
Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality
