The Psychology Department has 18 tenured and tenure-track faculty members. We have an active Ph.D. program and a vibrant research environment. In addition to the concentration in Legal Psychology, there are concentrations in Health Psychology, Social and Cultural Psychology, Behavioral Neuroscience, Bilingualism Language & Cognition, and a master's program in Clinical Psychology, offering a diversity of research perspectives and ripe opportunities for collaboration.


Job Description:


The University of Texas at El Paso (UTEP) Department of Psychology invites applications for a position of Assistant Professor, tenure-track, in our growing, nationally recognized Legal Psychology program. UTEP's location provides unique opportunities for research involving immigration and multiculturalism and faculty have established fruitful collaborations with community partners, including multiple criminal and juvenile justice agencies. Salary will be commensurate with qualifications. The anticipated appointment date is fall 2024.


Requirements:


A Ph.D. in Psychology by the time of appointment; published research; potential to attract external funding; and the ability to teach and mentor undergraduate and graduate students. We particularly seek candidates who show the potential to collaborate with existing faculty in the Psychology Department or other departments across UTEP, but promising scholars with research interests in any area of Legal Psychology are encouraged to apply.
