Job Description:
The Admissions Counselor, under the general direction of the Associate Director of Admissions will recruit for and administer admissions processes for all Alliant degree programs. The incumbent is responsible for managing inquiries and making contact with prospective students via telephone or email, in addition to conducting student interviews.

The Counselor must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills and relate well to prospective and continuing students as well as administration, faculty, and staff. The incumbent must excel in relationship-building and organizational skills, be able to multitask, work independently and as a team player, and have an aptitude for detail oriented tasks.


Requirements:
Education: BA/BS or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience

Experience: Experience in college/university admissions department and/or two or more years of customer service, sales or marketing experience. Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, SalesForce or similar customer relations management system, and experience with integrated business software systems in higher education, including relational databases.

Skills:
Sensitivity to cultural diversity and ability to communicate and interact effectively with people of all ages and diverse background
Excellent typing skills including speed (40 WPM minimum) and accuracy. A typing test may be required for counselors with live chat responsibilities
Proven ability to work effectively as a team player
Highly motivated, focused and results oriented
Ability to exercise discretion and tact in all interpersonal contacts, and to maintain confidentiality at all times
Ability to manage multiple tasks according to required deadlines
Maintain composure under high stress conditions
Ability to be optimistic, positive and supportive in all interactions with others
High level of accuracy and attention to detail


Duties & Responsibilities:
Provide counseling and overall customer service to prospective students at all stages in the admissions process via telephone, e-mail and campus visits.
Cultivate partnerships and pipeline relationships with other organizations and institutions, such as school districts and professional organizations.
Assist in the research and development of contact lists for potential new marketing and recruitment channels, partnerships, and outreach.
Maintain ongoing communication with applicants throughout the admissions process, tracking all communications using SalesForce and Jenzabar CX, when applicable.
Coordinate monthly Open Houses with faculty and/or student/alumni presenters.
Attend recruitment fairs, and applicable conventions and conferences.
Create an annual directory of current student contacts and classes open for visitors, to be shared with prospective students.
Coordinate the reading and interview processes and schedules with faculty and/or program directors as well as invite and host admissions finalists for interview, and prepare the acceptance agreement packets.
Manage and monitor deferred enrollments and wait-listed applicants.
Distribute admissions statistic reports and lists to faculty and/or program directors.
Perform other related tasks, duties and responsibilities as required, assigned or directed.
